These terms cover your use of KilterFit, including the iOS app and the nutrition and coach APIs that power it. By using KilterFit you agree to what's below. We've kept it short and plain.
What KilterFit is
KilterFit is a personal logbook for workouts, nutrition, body metrics, and a daily coach note. It estimates nutrition from photos and text descriptions of your meals, surfaces patterns in the data you log, and integrates with Apple Health.
KilterFit is local-first: your workouts, meals, and weight live on your device. There is no KilterFit account.
Estimates are estimates
Calories and macros returned by KilterFit are estimates from machine-learning models, not laboratory measurements. They are derived from images and descriptions and are subject to uncertainty around portion size, hidden ingredients, brand variation, and model error. Every response carries a confidence score and uncertainty notes for a reason: review them before saving.
Not medical advice
KilterFit is a tracking tool, not a healthcare product. Nothing in the app constitutes medical, nutritional, or fitness advice. Do not use KilterFit to manage a medical condition, to make dosing decisions, or as a substitute for advice from a qualified clinician or registered dietitian. If you are pregnant, nursing, managing diabetes or another condition that depends on accurate nutrient intake, please consult a professional. If you have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use KilterFit. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the service only with a parent's or guardian's consent.
Acceptable use
Use KilterFit for personal, non-commercial purposes. Don't:
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the model weights or training data behind the API.
- Send content that is unlawful, harassing, or that you don't have the right to send.
- Probe, attack, or attempt to bypass rate limits, auth, or other safeguards on our infrastructure.
- Impersonate someone else or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute API responses without a separate agreement.
We may rate-limit or terminate access if usage looks abusive or threatens the service's health.
Subscriptions and Pro features
KilterFit offers Pro features via in-app purchase through the Apple App Store. Pricing, billing, refunds, and account management are handled by Apple under Apple's standard Media Services Terms. KilterFit does not receive your billing details; we receive only the entitlement signal that unlocks Pro features. To cancel a subscription, use Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, and log entries you create in KilterFit. By using the service you grant us a limited license to process content you send to the nutrition or coach APIs for the purpose of returning a result: running the request through third-party AI model providers and returning the response to your device. We do not use your content to train models. We do not retain meal photos, descriptions, or coach snapshots on our servers after the response.
Our content
The KilterFit brand, app, marketing copy, and the design of the API responses are ours. You can use the service; you can't take the brand or the app's UI and ship it as your own.
Third-party services
KilterFit relies on Apple's app platform and Apple Health (HealthKit), third-party AI model providers (for nutrition and coach inference), and Sentry (for crash and performance diagnostics). Their terms govern your use of their services. We do not control their availability or pricing and aren't liable for outages on their side.
Beta software
KilterFit is in active development. Features may change, behave unexpectedly, or be removed without notice while we iterate. We recommend you don't depend on it as your sole record for anything that matters.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties (express, implied, or statutory) including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that nutrition estimates will be accurate within any particular tolerance.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KilterFit and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability under these terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim or (b) US$50.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the service in violation of these terms or applicable law.
Termination
You can stop using KilterFit at any time: delete the app and your local data goes with it. We can suspend or end access to the API if you breach these terms or if continued access would expose us to legal or security risk. Sections that should survive termination (Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnity, Governing Law) survive.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service changes materially. The "Effective" date at the top of the page reflects the latest version. Material changes will be surfaced in the app before they take effect; continued use after that point means you accept the change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
